Old and new traditions delight at the Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children’s Day Festival! East Cooper schools will host carnival games centered on the events theme. Families will enjoy carnival rides, giant inflatable slides, live entertainment, face painting and many other activities! Admission and all activities are free. Free parking is available at Cario Middle School and Charles Pinckney/Laurel Hill – shuttles run all day or simply use the cut-through and enjoy a nice short walk! Food concessions are offered by East Cooper schools for fundraising.
Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature's most beloved heroines, in her madcap adventures. Featuring updated songs from Disney's thrilling animated motion picture, Disney's Alice in Wonderland JR. is a fast-paced take on the classic tale.
Seating is general admission and begins 30 minutes before the show.

Join us at the Grand Pavilion for a seaside celebration! Marvel at how the Grand Pavilion glows during our tree lighting ceremony followed by a Lowcountry oyster roast. In addition to oysters, we will also be serving a buffet of mixed salad with assorted dressings, catfish, chicken fingers, fries, chili, coleslaw, iced tea and lemonade. The buffet also included s'mores, hot chocolate, popcorn and a chef's selection of desserts. Get in the holiday spirit with a complimentary showing of a children's holiday movie and don't forget to visit with Santa!

Toddler Time is a great shared experience for child and parent. A time for your little ones to discover the joy of being active, bouncing under the supervision of their parents, and without interference from the big kids.
Join in the fun as the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department holds its annual Halloween celebration at Park West! Enjoy trick or treating, games, crafts, face painting, a jump castle, and refreshments. Costumes are encouraged! For ages 2-5.

Weather permitting, Lowcountry Stargazers will host "Astronomy in the Park" at Brittlebank Park, most Wednesdays from sunset until 9pm (10pm DST), weather permitting. Stop by after work or before dinner and see what the universe has to offer. Our members will have a telescope or two set up, and will be available to answer your questions about the night sky.
We will set up at the north end of the park opposite the Marriott Hotel, and for those attending, we ask that you park in designated parking spaces, and not on the grass.

Come out to Hampton Park by the lagoon on Friday, October 26 from 4-6 PM for the city of Charleston Recreation Department’s annual Trick or Treat in the Park Halloween event.
Attendees will receive goodies from city of Charleston departments, local businesses and organizations. They will also enjoy a costume contest, hay rides, pony rides, arts and crafts, games, jump castles and live music. Don’t forget your costume and a bag for all of your goodies!
kidsFEST is a time for community, food and fun!
The purpose of KidsFEST is to give Small Group Leaders a place and time to connect with parents and families of Kidscoast students.
This is also an opportunity for Kidscoast to support missions and hurricane relief. We will have games, food trucks, pumpkin decorating and more!
There will be fun, food, and games for all ages!
Calling all ghouls, goblins, ghosts and fairies, join us for Halloween fun at our 10th Annual Family Fright nights. This is a family friendly event full of entertainment for all ages where everyone is encouraged to come in costume! Games, treats, tons of candy, face painting, balloon twisting, hay maze, photo booth, costume contests, pony rides, & a fun house will all be part of the excitement. The popular Mad Scientist Lab is also back again this year and will be sure to fright and delight.
Fright Nights will Feature a milder version of our Spooky Train Ride from 6 - 7:30 pm. After 8:00 the Train ride will be for the more adventurous at heart.
Hocus Pocus
Come watch your favorite films on our 3,000 sq ft. video board. Events include food trucks, concessions and a full bar. Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.

We're different after dark. Lasers, music and blacklight transform the whole park into a crazy jumping dance club. Flips are limited to Foam Zone during Glow. Waivers are required for all persons entering the park during Glow.
Calling all little witches, ghouls, princesses & superheroes: The Tanger SPOOKTacular on Saturday October 27th is where you'll want to be for Trick-or-Treating, and loads of fun for the WHOLE family, including Fido!
This year's event benefits Dorchester Paws animal shelter and features Pet Adoptions, Canine Costume Contest, Bearded Dogs & Ice Cream Team Food Trucks, Cauldron Crafts, Goblin Games, and of course LOTS OF CANDY for Trick-or-Treating!!
Trick-or-Treating for kids 12 and under will be from 1-3PM (while supplies last)! Just look for display decals on entrance doors of participating stores. Masks permitted for children age 12 and under.
Beginner Road Ride for all riders interested in learning about group bike rides. We will provide a ride leader who will lead you on the route, answer questions, and assist with mechanical issues. Learn about the rules of the road, how to ride in a paceline, and basic bike maintenance skills, including how to fix a flat tire! All rides start and end at the store. We will have post ride coffee and snacks.
Helmets are required. We highly suggest a front and rear blinking light.

Birds abound at Charles Towne Landing! With a mix of habitats, a wide variety of birds can be seen and heard at the park. From tiny marsh sparrows to grand wood storks, taking a walk around the site can reward the birding enthusiast with great sightings. Please join our birding partners of Wild Birds Unlimited as their staff introduce participants to the feathered inhabitants of Charles Towne Landing. Our walk will begin at the feeders in front of the Visitor Center as we focus on birds’ basic needs: food, water and shelter. As we walk, we will listen to and begin to identify bird calls. Next, we will talk about the distinguishing features which help us identify specific birds. Finally, we will present a brief overview of field guides and binoculars popular with birders.

All you have to do is come paint with us all decked out in your Halloween costume!
Ceramic paints easily wash out of most clothing and aprons are provided so no need to worry about ruining your Halloween attire.

Bring your dog, sip some wine and help out local pet rescues at the 12th annual Dogtoberfest: Dogs, Dine and Wine Pet Expo, presented by Charleston Animal Society. The event returns to Freshfields Village near Kiawah Island on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1-5 p.m.
Enjoy free activities for the kids, including a bouncy castle, book swap, bubbles, hula hoops, rock painting, treats, and more!
