Chocolate Covered Oreo® Cookies

 
 

Try your hand at these delicious Chocolate Covered Oreo® Cookies. Perfect for any holiday.  Get creative with seasonal cookie molds and various colored chocolate or candy melts.

Supplies needed:

Cookie Mold (found at craft stores such as Michaels or Joann Fabrics)

Chocolate Candy Melts

Package of Double Stuff Oreo® Cookies

What to do:

Step 1.  Place your chocolate or candy melts in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power for approximately 1 minute, then stir well. Continue to microwave for 15 to 30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth. Typically 1 bag of colorful candy melts yields 16-20 covered Oreos®.

Step 2.  Using a tablespoon, pour melted chocolate into the mold, filling each cup approximately 1/3 full.

Step 3.  Push an Oreo® cookie into the center of the chocolate, allowing the melted chocolate to cover the sides of the cookie.

Step 4.  Gently tap the mold to remove any air bubbles and ensure a smooth candy covering.  Use a spatula to scrape any extra chocolate off the top of the mold.

Step 5.  Refrigerate the mold for 10 minutes to allow chocolate to harden.  Then push cookies out of the mold.

Step 6.  Enjoy!
