In Celebration of National Learn to Swim Day and Water Safety Month The Y is Proud to Launch the First Cardboard Boat Regatta! Families and individuals are challenged to design, create and race a human powered boat made entirely out of cardboard and duct tape! On May 18 bring completed boats to the Y for judging and races. In addition, Mini-swim lessons, Swim Level Assessments, Boating Safety and Survival Demos and a Water Safety Presentation will be conducted by Y Water Safety experts. Plus a Drawing for a Free Session of Y Swim Lessons. Prizes for the Regatta include speed, creative design, spirit, and the Davey Jones award. Guidelines and boat building information available at the Welcome Center. Advanced registration required. .

Sumo Bots Night!

A night for builders and tinkerers to come design their own Sumobots. Under the instruction of our robotics gurus, students will learn to assemble their very own battle bot using our Lego Mindstorm kits. They will then put their creations to the test with a no holds barred, rock ‘em sock ‘em Sumo Bot battle!! As always this is a drop off event. Feel free to head out on Main Street for dinner while your kids enjoy a night of Sumo bots & pizza!!
