Are you having trouble adjusting to motherhood? Are you feeling sad, anxious, angry or scared? Do you feel like there is no hope to feeling better? Are you physically and emotionally exhausted? You’re not alone, mama. *This is a woman-only group (female friends and family members are welcome to join), and we welcome kids in all stages. Our meeting spot has a playground that the kids can play on at the end of the walk, if necessary. Postpartum Support Charleston is a Mount Pleasant-based 501c3 founded in 2000.

Come join us for a day at the farm! This day will be a little different as we will have Cindy Ivey from Damsel in Defense doing a free child’s safety class. Our horse time will be a little shorter than usual but everyone will still get to ride. You have to sign up by commenting your child’s age. For an extra charge we will have concessions for sale. Hotdogs, chips and drink combos, nachos, snow cones, popcorn, baked goods etc. Included: Horse and pony rides/Bounce house/ Zip line/ Large playground with attached sand box/Free range activities such as step 2 extreme roller coaster, basketball, trampoline, etc.

Sullivan's Island History Hunt

How well do you and your family know the history of Sullivan’s Island? Battery Gadsden is sponsoring the first annual island-wide HISTORY HUNT. Registration for this family friendly event starts at 9:00 AM at Battery Gadsden Cultural Center (Next to Poe Library). The sooner you register the more time you will have to figure out the clues before the hunt begins precisely at 10:00 AM rain or shine. You will be given a map, instructions, and clues! You must unlock the mysteries of the clues in order to find the 30 historic treasures. It is up to you to decipher each clue to find the answer. The team that finds the most treasures wins the hunt! A pizza party to follow. Only Golf Carts and Bikes are acceptable modes of transportation during the hunt. Make sure you bring your cell phone to document your findings. All participants over the age of 18 must sign a disclaimer.

Despite his family's generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

FREE admission and parking. Film begins at dusk (approx. 8:00pm). Bring blankets and chairs. The concessions stand will be open. Carpooling is encouraged.
