Mommy & Me (and Daddies too!) classes are a great way for parents and children to explore art and expand literacy skills. Children ages 3-4 and their parent or guardian will learn about the basic elements of art together.

Huntington Beach State Park is considered by many to be the best birding spot in South Carolina. Come see why for yourself! Local birders, Phil and Sharon Turner, will lead a walk along the causeway to search the freshwater pond and salt marsh for a variety of birds. Depending on the season, we might observe herons, egrets, rails, woodstorks, shorebirds, ducks, bald eagles and more! Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. Meet at the Causeway parking lot.

Experience life on the 'one horse farm' in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. Join us for a cooking demonstration as staff makes jam on the wood burning stove from grapes grown on site. A free, hour long, guided tour of the Farm will be available to the public at 3:00 PM following the demonstration.

Join a ranger for a guided hike on the Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail. Along the way, we’ll explore a maritime forest, sand dunes, and freshwater and salt marshes. After a rest stop at the Nature Center, we’ll make our way back along the beach. Total of 2-1/2 miles. (2 hrs.) Bring a water bottle and wear close-toed shoes. Meet at the North Beach (= Jetty) parking lot. Bring water and sunscreen.

This comfortable setting will allow you to change or feed your baby as needed. Led by Shelsea Novosel, mama of two little girls and Yoga teacher for the past 11 years.

The KidsArt Program’s Saturday Art Adventures for ages 5-7 are designed to provide young artists with the opportunity to explore the art in our galleries and create inspired art projects in the Studio. Inspired by Drew Brophy’s sacred geometry body of work, students will use compact discs to create radially symmetrical monoprints.
