Join us for a fun, hands-on exploration of orchids. Learn why orchids come in all shapes and sizes based on the wildlife that uses them for pollination.

This program is designed for kids 8-12 with an adult chaperone. It is sure to be fun for all, as we touch, smell and look into different orchid flowers and their landing pads, and check-out how and where they grow. After a repotting demonstration, each kid & parent team will repot an orchid plant and take it home to nurture.

Each adult must accompany 1 or 2 children during this program, please no more than 2 adults per child.

Children will mix up a pot of delicious Stone Soup using ingredients from our outdoor classroom. Parents and caregivers learn too, as we will share information about your child's development. Attendees will have the opportunity to examine not only the bees in an observation hive, but also to examine beekeeping equipment, to taste some local honey, and to take home a flowering plant to attract bees to your own backyard.
