Join us for a fun, hands-on exploration of orchids. Learn why orchids come in all shapes and sizes based on the wildlife that uses them for pollination.
This program is designed for kids 8-12 with an adult chaperone. It is sure to be fun for all, as we touch, smell and look into different orchid flowers and their landing pads, and check-out how and where they grow. After a repotting demonstration, each kid & parent team will repot an orchid plant and take it home to nurture.
Each adult must accompany 1 or 2 children during this program, please no more than 2 adults per child.
Fresh seasonal produce, local meats, bread, lunch items, soap and honey, and much more!

In this trial class, local Tinkergarten leader Katie Kohlhepp will facilitate an expert-designed play scenario, allowing children of various ages and needs to explore, problem solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together. Children will mix up a pot of delicious Stone Soup using ingredients from our outdoor classroom. Parents and caregivers learn too, as we will share information about your child's development. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the local laws - including a ban on dancing - which are the brainchild of a local preacher bent on exercising control over the town's youths. When the Reverend's rebellious daughter sets her heart on Ren, her boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation and many of the locals are eager to believe the worst about the new kid.
