Colonial Park is the home of an 18-hole putting course unlike the traditional resort type miniature golf courses. The one-and-a-half-acre course has no amusements, and instead offers players mini-gardens and natural landscaping features. Instead of traditional "boxed" holes, the fairway greens range from twenty-five to seventy-five feet long! Each hole has been designed to provide a fun and challenging experience for both the experienced golfer and first-time player. In order to accommodate players with physical disabilities, all 18 holes are fully accessible; only the second course in the country to achieve that feat.
Join the Teacher-Naturalists for a lesson about native butterflies and their life cycles. After a tour of the butterfly house, we will head into the fields to try to catch butterflies in our nets. Then return for a tea party of lemonade, sugar cookies and a story under our tent! This is a family event (children 3-10 years old) and adults must stay with children. Space is limited and registration is required.
