ROCKIN’ TOTS

ROCKIN’ TOTS

Thursday, March 15, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Rockin Jump, Myrtle Beach

Our ROCKIN’ TOTS jump time is held weekdays 9am to 12pm and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Holiday hours may apply. Just think, you can burn as many calories playing with your children on our trampolines in 10 minutes as you would running for 33 minutes, and still fit in time to socialize with your other ROCKIN’ TOTS friends. Does that sound fun or what?

Dinosaurs!

Dinosaurs!

Thursday, March 15, 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet

Animatronic Dinosaurs—The exhibit features 17 lifelike dinosaur animatronics along an outdoor landscaped pathway. As guests pass by each animatronic, a sensor signals various parts—eyes, head, arms, tail—to move. Paleontologist Excavation Site—Along the trail, there will be a replica of a paleontologist campsite site that showcases how paleontologists uncover dinosaur specimens, and gives children the chance to uncover “fossils” on their own. Colorful Graphics—Signage introduces guests to each of the animatronics that represent the inhabitants from a time gone by, from the Late Jurassic Period when the Stegosaurus roamed North America 150 million years ago to the Late Cretaceous Period of 85-75 million years ago when the Pteranodon wandered the earth.

Homeschool Explorers - Gardening and Pollinators

Thursday, March 15, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Brookgreen Gardens - 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

Join us as we explore Brookgreen’s “backyard” in an exciting and interactive program that encourages students to use their senses to explore, observe, and investigate the nature around them. Students will observe a variety of plants, trees, animal tracks, homes, and more. They will tour the Cultural Garden and Sensory Trail, where they learn what plants need to live and how to start their own garden. They also will get the buzz about butterflies and bees, while viewing an active observation bee hive. Students will "bee" educated on the anatomy of bees and butterflies and their essential role in our gardens.

Where the Trees Grow

Thursday, March 15, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Brookgreen Gardens - 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

Through two outdoor programs, students become familiar with the anatomy of two of the forests here at Brookgreen Gardens: 1) Walking through the Upland Forest and the Cypress Swamp ecosystems, the students will compare and notate on a Venn diagram the different species of both plants and animals in these two forested areas; and 2) The students will be introduced to a forest profile. Along with observing the layers of a forest and tree cross sections, the students will observe the horizons and soil composition that make up the forest floor.
