Reading Buddies is a six week program that gives older students and beginning readers the opportunity to share the fun of reading. Li le and Big Reading Buddies are paired together, and meet 45 minutes per week for a six week session. Each session includes buddy reading, a snack, and a literacy related ac vity such as a game or cra . Parent or guardians of the Li le Buddy must stay in the library during the program. Li le Bud- dies are in grades 1-4. Big Buddies are in grades 5-12.

“I Got the Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night”

Well, not exactly, but we will take advantage of the rare opportunity to observe both the Sun and a waxing crescent Moon in one Duke Farms Program. Ranger Bob will share amazing facts about our magnetic Sun (for example: there are no flames or fire on the solar surface!) and take us on a virtual lunar tour of the Moon, soaring low over Apollo landing sites and pointing out the craters and lunar geography we’ll see through the telescope along the Moon’s terminator.
