Peridot Art Studio seeks to develop artistic skills and creativity in a relaxed environment. Small classes in drawing and painting are offered in a nurturing studio setting where students work at their own pace in their chosen medium and receive individualized attention. All levels welcome.

It's a great way to get out of the house and get your energy out on cold rainy days. $10 cash ($11 credit) for as long as we are open. We also offer a monthly pass, so you can come as often as you'd like for an entire month! $35 for the first child, $30 each additional sibling.

Studio Z is an education space with activities for younger visitors. The studio's computer terminal includes the Junior Curator program, which allows anyone to become a curator and organize Zimmerli artworks.The space also features a selection of works created by Summer Art Camp participants, as well as works by students from the New Brunswick public school system.

Our upcoming film is “The Messenger” (2015) is an artful investigation into the causes of songbird mass depletion and the compassionate people who are working to turn the tide. The film takes viewers on a visually stunning journey revealing how the problems facing birds also pose daunting implications for our planet and ourselves.
Participants design and build a boat made of only cardboard and duct tape to carry them across the length of a 25 yard pool. The boat is created before the day of the race. No other materials including sealant spray, plastics or cardboard tubing can be used. Only cardboard boxes and duct tape of any and all colors are permitted. Only pool noodles may be used as oars. 1:30pm Check-in, 2:00pm Race Start
Prizes will be given to the winners of the following divisions.
Mini Division - Ages 6-9 years old
Junior Division - Ages 10-12 year old
Family Division - Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
Adult Division - Ages 18 and older

Little Ninja - Girls Monday Ages 3-6 Mon 2:00 pm-2:50 pm
For first time students or students with less than 3 semesters of experience. Students will learn unicycle, rolabola, rolling globe, stilt walking and wire walking. Each class consists of a dynamic warm-up, skill building, collaborative play, improvisations and act creation. This class will present an informal Sharing on the last day of class, during normal class time. Students are welcome to invite friends and family to watch the Sharing, which may consist of an act or a simple presentation of skills learned over the course of the semester.
This weekly art class will help students to improve their painting skills by introducing more advance painting techniques. This class will introduce students to oil painting, as well as building on their skills with oil pastels, watercolors, watercolor pencils, tempera and acrylic paint.
Lessons will focus on helping students create representational paintings. Students will learn how to see their subject as a collection of shapes, will learn size relationships, measuring tricks and proportion of objects. Students will continue to learn about the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design to help them begin to make choices about their art work. As with all Teen classes students will be able to choose the subject for their paintings.

Read & Pick is an innovative program that combines picking fruit with your young child and listening to a story highlighting the fruit. Parents and young children (ages preschool to 8 years) are welcome to celebrate everything wonderful about strawberries. We will be reading two books highlighting strawberries by an educational component. Then everyone will pick his or her own container of strawberries. Our farm staff will explain how strawberries grow and how they should be picked. 9:30 am & 11:00 am session

Weekly walking program that will meet at the Duke Island Visitor Center every Wednesday morning at 9:30am. Warm up with coffee, tea, and refreshments following the walk.

Our "Taste of Fencing" courses are just that — they allow you to try the sport of fencing without making a long term commitment or costly investment. Students must complete a 3-week "Taste of Fencing" course (or equivalent) that includes safety, history, basic footwork and hand positions prior to joining an ongoing Foil Foundation Class.

This weekly art class will introduce students to many new, exciting clay crafts. Students will learn a lot of new techniques and have the opportunity to work with new materials. This class is designed for beginners as well as students who have had clay classes in the past.
Clay crafts will be designed as works of art as well as functional art pieces. Students will use air dry clay, Sculpey clay, Plaster of Paris, Paper Clay & Paper Mache, and found objects to create their projects. Students will be introduced to basic clay hand-building techniques such as slab, coil, assemblage, and pinch pots.
Teens and adults are invited to a movie screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG-13) at the Somerville Library. Movie is 2 hours and 16 minutes long. Registration not required.

A New Jersey Symphony Orchestra chamber ensemble will perform for patients and families at the Hunterdon Medical Center’s Family Night on Friday, June 10, at 6 pm, in a concert sponsored by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey as part of the NJSO’s Music and Wellness Program.

41st Annual ROSE DAY FESTIVAL

Colonial Park Gardens annual Rose Day Festival celebrates one of the first signs of summer…Roses in Bloom! In the heart of the park, the Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden displays thousands of many varieties, both modern and of historic significance. Visitors are invited to celebrate and revel in the day by strolling through the gardens, enjoying music and live entertainment, meeting local artisans, and indulging in some great food! Back by popular demand, roses plants will also be for sale. You will be sure to find a fun activity for festival-goers of any age!
Shake up your Saturday routine with a Pizza Brunch at Liberty Hall Pizza, Brunch Pizza is served only on the weekend from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Brunch Pizza consists of a base pizza of eggs, salt and pepper, fresh garlic and olive oil. Diners choose their favorite cheese (Fresh Mozzarella, Cheddar, Gruyere, Goat, Ricotta); one meat (Italian Fennel Sausage, Taylor Pork Roll, Guanciale (pork cheek), Calabrese Salami or Pancetta); and a vegetable (Red Onions, Italian Long Hots, Artichokes, Caramelized Onions, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Baby Spinach, Mushrooms, Roasted Red Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes, Rosemary Potatoes).

Join in the fun at the 23rd annual Montgomery Professional Rodeo and Bullmania. Professional cowboys from all over will be coming to compete in Bucking Broncos, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, and Barrel Racing. Kids will have great fun during the Mutton Busting, the Calf Scramble, and the stick horse race. The Rodeo clown adds hilarious comedy and there is always a cowboy who gives a trick roping performance. It is an action-packed day in and out of the arena including a kids carnival, Food and Beverage, Live Bands, and many other vendors. (Gates open 2 hours prior, held rain or shine)
